Somehow, ever so briefly, I found a quick few minutes of reading time & smiled as I read how one of my Wisconsin-photographer-friends (we like hyphenated titles like that ;) ) wrote & reflected on her year. What really grabbed my attention was how symbolic ending the year photographing a newborn was for her. And then I realized for me, I literally closed the door on 2011 photographing this beautiful couple & their baby to be. A lovely maternity session, nestled snug in the hills, but still only a few degrees warmer than it was in town. (I saw two people out jogging that day, at twenty-two below zero. Yes ... yes I did. I wish I could say I was one of those people who was motivated by that. Instead I literally shivered & went, ohmygawd it's too cold to be running outside!) I am so lucky to end & start my year (and continue my career) with something so amazing and so quietly symbolic. Bringing a baby into this world ... love ... tender kisses ... it's all so representative of what's to come, ending the year expecting a new little bundle and starting the year fresh & new, with a little one in your arms ... and yes, even sunshine 'on a cloudy day' rings true. Pretty amazing. Very emotional. Babies will do that to you. And your life.
Thank you Jacque & Robert ...'this is the start of something good, don't you agree'
