It's Update Time!

*If you aren't interested in 'the update' and just want to skip to the end for the fun goodies, you can do that here. ;) I swear I always have the best of intentions when it comes to "the 29th" and what I'm going to share, update & put up to talk about. And then the day gets here and I find myself scrambling around trying to put it all together & remember where I 'set things', getting distracted by this-that-&-the-other ... sound familiar? No, just me?!

Let's see, where shall we begin ... we finally got our adoption fund-raiser idea mentioned here up and running on this family blog here (you can take a peek if you want). What's even more exciting is just all the positive energy, love & support that's been generated! It just goes back to that old saying ... alone we do so little, together we can do so much. Some of the support has come from people we haven't even 'known' for that long - that is amazing! (And very humbling. I love being a part of such an incredible community.)

It's been a slow few weeks of updates due to some in-country meetings (a very normal process that has taken place in many stable countries, so we've been told) and holidays here in the US - and of course crazy weather! Yes, it seems our crazy weather took a turn & affected other areas of the country too. Offices closed, schools closed. Good times.

I've learned about where you can enter the charity of your choice while you do your online shopping this season. (Check it out - it is really very cool! "You search, We give")

We've of course been busy with normal every day life, preparing for the holidays and you guessed it, getting more paperwork notarized & mailed! ;) But we love it & wouldn't have it any other way. The last I checked we are hovering in the upper forties (47 I believe) and with (*behind-the-scenes I just dropped my turkey sandwich everywhere, so I've quite possibly lost my train of thought forever - hahaha - sigh) ... anyway, we won't know too much more on that front until probably closer to the end of December. I've always firmly believed, even when getting pregnant, the timing is out of our hands, out of our control. And when the time is right, our baby will find us. You can't rush life. You can't make something happen. All of our children have found us when the timing was right. I truly believe that, for each & every one of us.

Are you still with me? ;)

Finally, we have the puzzle! Yes, I went on a search ... and anyone who knows me probably knows all too well ... it was a detailed search, looking for 'the perfect puzzle' that could convey everything we I wanted it too. I can't wait to show you guys! We're starting to put the names on & put some of it together ... if you haven't clicked on that link & want to know more about being a piece of the puzzle ... please do. I would love to include your name. It's brought me to tears every time we've received a donation (from friends in other countries even!).

Finally, we have a drawing going on that ends today! Run over & see if it's something you might be interested in ... even if it's not, I hope you'll share! We also have some amazing donations from Kelsey Anderson (you can get her WHOLE design shop!!!) and Dale Taylor (she's donated some inspirational work that we're offering as posters/wall hangings or note-cards) that those in the photog community might enjoy. And please don't forget about this discount code here, from Abie Camera Straps. You guys are all so amazing! We are so lucky to have you be a part of our journey. I hope those of you that visit the blog enjoy some of these great gifts!

So yes, lots to update ... lots going on underneath the water ... what is that phrase? Calm mama duck on the surface ... ahhh, here it is:

Always behave like a duck. Keep calm and unruffled on the surface but paddle like the devil underneath.

~ Jacob Braude

I would say that is pretty accurate. ;)
